Welcome to the SoundJam MP 1.1.1 update! Double clicking on the SoundJam™ MP 1.1.1 Update will automatically locate a previous copy of SoundJam and update it to version 1.1.1. During this process you will not lose any music files, skins or plug-ins.

- Typing command-I while the main player is active will bring up get info window for currently playing song.

- Added a preference option to disable the warning when deleting tracks.

- Fixed potential crash bug in intensity stereo mp3 decoding.

Changes in SoundJam MP 1.1
• File conversion has been optimized for Power Mac G4 with Velocity Engine
- File conversion is now significantly faster on Power Mac G4 with Velocity
Engine based computers. Our figures show 8x encoding speed on 500mhz G4 computers and 7.1x encoding speed on 450mhz G4 computers. For comparison purposes we have seen up to 3x encoding speed on 266mhz iMacs.
• Melt-O-Rama has been optimized for the Power Mac G4 with Velocity Engine
- Melt-O-Rama has many improvements including blazing fast performance on the new Power Mac G4 computers as well as improved dithering and overall performance increase on all computers.
• Added WhiteCap Plug-in
- There is a new visual plug-in, written by Andy O'Meara, called WhiteCap which is located in the Extra's folder. To use WhiteCap, drag both the "WhiteCap Configs" folder and the WhiteCap plug-in into the Visual Plug-ins folder which is in the SoundJam Plug-ins folder.
• Improved MP3 conversion sound quality
- This version includes improvements to MP3 conversion sound quality.
• Improved Genre support
- Custom Genre information can now be typed in as well as selected from a menu.
- Genres are now sorted alphabetically in the Get Info window.
• The ID3 Tag version can now be specified
SoundJam's preferences now allow you to select the specific ID3 tag version which is added to files. SoundJam supports ID3 tag version 1.0, 1.1, 2.2 and 2.3.
- Add Missing ID3 Tags: creates tags when none exist
- Update existing ID3 Tags: updates information in existing tags, using the existing ID3 tag version
- Create ID3 Tags as: specifies what version tags are used for encoding files & files without tags
• ID3 Tag version information is displayed in the File Information window
- Information on the ID3 tag version is displayed in the Get Info window.
• Improvements to AppleScript Support
- Added playOnce AppleScript option for playing tracks.
• Improvements which increase overall stability
- We identified and fixed several situations which could cause stability problems.
• Correctly handle AppleShare servers
- Playing songs over a AppleShare server is now better supported when the server is unmounted.
• Fixed various other bugs
- As always, we fix minor bugs in each new version.

• Added display of totals to playlist
- The total playtime and number of tracks is now displayed at the top of the Playlist.
• Improved MP3 conversion sound quality
- We continue to improve our MP3 conversion sound quality.
• Improved Streaming Stability
- Internet based streaming is now more stable.

- We have worked to make the overall performance of SoundJam MP even smoother. For instance, equalization now uses less CPU time.

- SoundJam MP supports the upcoming Rio 500 MP3 audio player.
• New Control Strip module
- Now you can control many of SoundJam MPs features from a control strip.
• Supports resizable visual plug-in
- The plug-in architecture has been enhanced to support resizable windows. Try viewing the improved Melt-O-Rama visual plugin as full screen with a command-f key combination! To resize, click on the lower right corner where the grow box would be.
• Added Sound Designer II to supported audio formats
- SoundJam MP now can play and convert from Sound Designer II files.
• Added support for editing year and track number ID3 tags
- You can now edit the year and track number in the ID3 tags. From the playlists you also can display the Year and Track Number as well as sort the list by Year and Track Number.
• Added CDDB proxy support
- We have added CDDB proxy support so you can now lookup CDs from behind firewalls!
• Displays detailed MP3 track information
- Selecting Get Info for a MP3 file will display detailed information about that file (in addition to the standard ID3 tag info), including, Kind, Time, Size, Date, Where, Bit Rate, Sample Rate and Channels.
• Added ability to play songs from closed playlist
- You can now play a song, close the playlist, and have subsequent songs in the playlist continue to play.
• Fixed some bugs in the skin converter
- The converter is better at converting some troublesome WinAmp skins.
• Fixed bugs saving ID3 tags
- In some situations changes to the ID3 tags were not properly saved. This has been fixed.
• Added support for editing ID3 v1, ID3 v2, and ID3 v3 tags
- We have expanded our ID3 tag support to include ID3 v1, ID3 v2, and ID3 v3 tags.
• Improved AppleScript support

• Skins can now be in millions of colors
- Skin graphics can now be in millions of colors. This should allow more flexibility in designing skins. For more information on designing skins please go to <http://www.soundjam.com/sp/>.
• Improved support for CD ROM-Toolkit
- We now provide improved support for computers running FWB's CD ROM-Toolkit.
• Added support for Playlists folder in the SoundJam MP folder
- By default, playlists are now stored in a folder called Playlists.
• Improved quality reading CD audio data from some CD drives
- SoundJam MP had difficulty reading data from some CD-ROM drives. This problem has been addressed.
• Improved Shuffle randomness
- SoundJam's shuffle scheme is now more random.
• Added support for more MP3 file types
- SoundJam supports now supports even more commonly used mp3 files types.
• Keyboard shortcuts for main windows
- We added keyboard shortcuts for most SoundJam windows.
• Fixed various other bugs
- As always, we fix minor bugs in each new version.
